About 100 Miles north of Fairbanks Alaska, on the road to the Arctic Circle, you will find this scene.  I was struck by its subtle beauty, and kind of “turn of the century, impressionistic” look.  I saw it when I captured the image, and I saw it when I edited the film.  Every time I gaze at this image, I feel like I didn’t photograph it…I feel like I painted it. 

In the foreground you can see what is called Fireweed.  This flower was the best weather forecaster that I have ever seen.  They say that when the top blossoms bloom, there is 6 weeks until winter.  That is just how winter came too.
