San Juan Islands

Between Washington State and Vancouver Island, there are a bunch of islands called The San Juan Islands.  On the ferry going out to these islands, I met a 24 year old woman who was a Doctor in Germany.  She was on “Holiday”.  Her name was Anna.  She had taken a plane to Seattle and with nothing more than a Backpack, and public transportation, found her way to the ferry to the San Juan Islands.  Her plan was to get off the boat, and walk to the nearest campground. 

We became friends, and I offered a ride to the campsite.  When she found out that it was a 12 mile hike to the campground, she took me up on the offer.  We ended up becoming good friends, and shared a campsite.  She accompanied me sometimes when I went out looking for my next image. 

One day while we out looking for the perfect photo, Anna spotted this little corner of the island.  So I named this image for her. 

We were never anything more than friends, but I am sure I will never forget Heir’ Doctor. 

Oh, we parted company a week or so later, and I have never heard from her since.
