In 1997, I took a little trip from the tip of Baja Mexico, all the way north to the Arctic Circle in Alaska. The first leg of the trip was from Oceanside, California…to Cabo San Lucas, Lands End. I left Oceanside on February 16th, and experienced great weather most of the way. However it was a little cold on the Coast of Pacific Ocean, so I went across the peninsula over to the Gulf of California.
I was amazed at how many birds have made Baja their home. And the pelican is no exception. There were thousands of them. I watched some pelicans flying alone and others in groups of many. But all were majestic, and seemed to fly without effort. I could sit on a cliff and never be tiered of viewing there flight.
