Spirit Island Canadian Rockies

In the Canadian Rockies, a lake call Maligne Lake, offer a few hour tour / Boat ride that takes you back to almost the very end of the lake.  The last stop is this very beautiful sight.  It is called Spirit Island. 

The tour stop is for only a few minutes, and I didn’t have much time to take this image.  I kept waiting for the clouds to open up so I could get some more light…But the boat was leaving, and I had to be on it.  I wanted to take a later boat back, but they were sold out for the day, and future boats would not accommodate me.  So I got what I got.

At the CBS / TIMES WARNER CABLE "ART FEST" in Palm Desert March 8th and 9th, 2003, this  image "SPIRIT ISLAND" won the BLUE RIBBON 1st Place for best Image in Photography.
