In 1992 I believe, Southern California had the worst fire season in History. All of Malibu and Laguna Beach was on fire.
In Malibu, it burned right down to the ocean! From the place I was living in Redondo Beach, you could see the flames very clearly across the bay. And that was a good 25 miles or more away.
Because of the Santa Ana winds, most all of the smoke went out and hovered off the coast, right over the Pacific Ocean.
For the next week or so, I saw some of the best Sunsets! This one in particular was amazing! The seagulls just stood still. That sure did help in taking the image…It is a ˝ second time exposure.
